Monument to the city madman in Bratislava
Description:
There is a monument to a gentleman in Bratislava, dedicated not to some abstract gentleman, but to a very real character who lived here in the last century.
In the middle of the twentieth century, a peculiar man lived in Bratislava, who bore the nickname Shuone Nazi, which translates as “Beautiful Nazi”. His real name is Ignaz Lamar. And he got his nickname because when walking down the street, seeing an attractive girl, he raised his hat with the words “Shuone”, which means “beautiful”. He was polite and quiet, didn’t live well, died at the age of 70.
You’ll find him walking around the Old Town. He was immortalized with a raised hat over his head. Legend has it that wearing his hat will bring good luck. Therefore, tourists are sure to take pictures with this gentleman, even if they think that it is immortalized by the city madman. And this, by the way, is a very common opinion, but the main thing is not this, but the fact that whoever this person was - either a gentleman or an urban madman, he was a very extraordinary person, if so remembered by the residents of the city.
