Pushkin Literary Museum in Brodzyany

Brodzany 53,958 42 Brodzany, Slovakia

About the company:

The Pushkin Literary Museum in Brodzyany, located in the Slovak town of the same name, is the only museum of the poet outside the USSR and Russia. It was opened in 1979 in the building of the old castle restored for its opening, built in the XVI century. The choice of the place was due to the fact that the wife of Alexander Pushkin Natalia Goncharova, who was related to the owners of the castle, the Friesenhof family, often visited these places.

The exposition dedicated to the work of A. S. Pushkin and his Slovak reading is located on the second floor of the building. Here you can see the albums of a relative of the poet’s wife with drawings depicting members of the Pushkin family, books, reproductions of Pushkin’s manuscripts and drawings, illustrations to his works created in Slovakia. Another exposition displays the ties between Slovakia and Russia in the field of literature that have a long history. In the park near the museum there are monuments to A. S. Pushkin, L. N. Tolstoy, F. M. Dostoevsky and some other Russian writers.
