Mosquito monument in Comarno

The mosquito monument is located in the southern Slovak city of Komarno, located on the border with Hungary. In honor of this city, a symbolic monument was erected in the form of an enlarged copy of a miniature insect - a mosquito. The wingspan of the mosquito, located on a stone-paved pedestal, is 460 centimeters.

This monument is made of stainless steel and spins like a weather vane around its axis, showing the direction of the wind to the port city of Comarno. It even makes a creaking sound, thus preventing the city from falling asleep.
