About the company:
The oldest museum in Slovakia is the East Slovak Museum, which was founded in 1872. Now it is located in a building built at the beginning of the last century in the neo-renaissance style. The facade of the building depicts mythical characters, among which you can see Vulcan and Perseus.
The history of Slovakia and the Balkan Peninsula in the medieval and Stone Age period is the main theme of the exhibition of the East Slovak Museum. The greatest interest among tourists is the “golden reserve of Kosice” – a gold bar weighing 11 kilograms. It is worth mentioning the wonderful collection of gold coins minted in different periods and in different countries of Europe. Also in the courtyard of the museum is a wooden church, built in 1741.
For those who want to plunge into the historical period of development of Slovakia, welcome to the East Slovak Museum.
