The Julian Alps (Slovenia, Italy)

Description:

The Julian Alps (Slovenia, Italy)

Fabulously beautiful places lead us through the picturesque valley of the Sava Dolinka River. It originates in a beautiful place, almost near the border of three states (Slovenia, Italy, Austria). We get acquainted with the ski resort of Kranjska Gora and start climbing the picturesque mountain road to the Vršić Pass, falling into the arms of the Triglav National Park. Vršić (1611 m), the most famous mountain pass in the Julian Alps. In 1916, the road across Vrshich was built by Russian prisoners of war. During the construction there was a terrible disaster, the avalanche took the lives of 170 people. In memory of the fallen sons of Russia, a Russian chapel was built here. The road leads us down to one of the cleanest rivers in Europe, the Socha River. It is simply impossible to describe in words the places in which we will visit, because nature is the most brilliant poet, writer and artist. Slovenians call their river emerald beauty and for this, they have all the reasons. We will have lunch in the peasant farm, where we will be pampered with freshly caught trout, cooked with sheep cheese. The bravest of you can swim in our cold beauty and soak up the sun. In one of the valleys, in the mountains, the fortress Kluzhe is hidden. The strategic facility fits well into the environment. We will walk you through places that have been almost empty until recently. I'll tell you why on the tour. And here we are in Italy, past the town of Trbiž, returning to Slovenia. P.S. If children will participate in this tour, please let me know. We'll change the program a little bit and go to Kekcevo Dejelo, the place where the main character of Slovenian stories lives - a boy named Kekets.
