Sightseeing tour of the city of Kranj
Description:
Kranj is the Alpine capital of Slovenia, a cultural center and one of the favorite places for outdoor activities.
The city grew up on a rock, like a balcony in front of the Alps, and rests with one foot in the urban appearance, the other in the natural wealth. Getting here, it seems like time has slowed down for a while.
In the old center walk along the pavements of the city, in numerous cafes over a cup of coffee and reading newspapers there are leisurely conversations. In the evening, ladies and gentlemen go to the theater or to a concert. And active residents spend time in nature, because there are many bicycle and hiking paths in the district.
Despite its small size, only in the historical center of the city. You won’t notice how a couple of hours fly by and you will find that you haven’t even seen half of it. Of course, if you have someone who knows every corner here, not just the standard guide program. And if you dodge a little away from a typical sightseeing tour of the city, you can get acquainted with unusual and non-standard corners, cafes and attractions.
Our excursion takes place in the historical center of the city, rich in its history, legends and events.
We meet on the central square, which contains the walks of the famous poet Franze Prešeren, and the disputes of local merchants, and hearty stories. We will walk to the bridge over the Cocru River past the oldest building in the city. Then our way lies in a narrow street to the castle of Kissstein. After a walk along it, we will return to the central street and pass the city administration, the church of St. Kantian and comrades, the Prescherna Theatre and reach the observation point on Pungerta.
In a few hours I will try to introduce you to this city, in which I have been desperately in love for many years. And don’t be confused by a short list of attractions. Allow yourself to be surprised.
