The bridge of lovers

The Bridge of Lovers or the Butcher Bridge in Ljubljana is a very popular place among tourists. It is one of the top attractions of Slovenia. The bridge itself is small, but very beautiful, over the small river Ljubljanica. There is an amazing atmosphere around him, because he was chosen by lovers. From an architectural point of view, it is also interesting - it combines glass and concrete. The fabulous figures of the faun only adorn it even more. Lovers have a tradition of hanging small locks along the railing. They symbolize love and loyalty. The railings have images of beetles and skulls, but they are also already decorated with locks. At first, the city administration protested against this tradition, but eventually resigned, making the bridge one of the most unique in the city and in the country. You can get to Ljubljana by plane, bus, train.
