Technical Museum of Slovenia

Bistra pri Vrhniki 6, Bistra, Ljubljana

About the company:

The Technical Museum of Slovenia is the largest museum in the country. It is located in the walls of a medieval Cartesian monastery near the town of Vrchnik.

The museum was founded in 1951, and two years later it opened its doors to the first visitors. The exposition of the museum is divided into many sections telling about the history of hunting and fishing, forestry and woodworking, printing, transport and textile production in modern Slovenia. The Technical Museum has the largest collection of bicycles, motorcycles and cars.

The museum collection is housed in the buildings of the monastery, the history of which dates back to the XIII century. The contrast of technical progress and eternal stone walls makes a walk through the technical museum of Slovenia unusual and fascinating.
