Description:
The old water tower is one of the attractions of the Slovenian city of Maribor. Its construction dates back to the XVI century. The main function of the building was to protect the city from enemy attack. In total, 4 such towers were erected in Maribor, which created a single defensive ensemble. However, the one described is the oldest of all.
Even now, the tower attracts tourists. Over time, it was raised about a meter above the river level. Now in the architectural monument there is a wine shop with a tasting room.
