Maritime Museum named after Sergei Mazer

The Sergey Mazer Maritime Museum is a museum dedicated to Slovenian naval history and maritime traditions.

This museum was opened in 1954 and is located in a building built in the neoclassical style in the middle of the XIX century.

The exposition presents archaeological, marine and historical collections. There are household items of Slovenian fishermen, samples of boats of different times, as well as an excellent library, which contains 14,000 books.

The museum has its own restoration department. It is also a member of the International Congress of Maritime Museums and a founding member of the Association of Mediterranean Maritime Museums.
