Lake Church

Lake Cerknica or "Disappearing Lake" is located in the south-western part of Slovenia in the city of Postojna. The lake is unusual in that the water in it then disappears, then reappears. This happens depending on the specific time of year. This phenomenon is called one of the wonders of the world. It is home to half the species of mammals and birds throughout Europe, a huge number of species of butterflies and amphibians. The lake has an area of about 38 km2. The beauty of nature of the church especially fascinates tourists.

You can get to this fantastic place by bus from Postojna (the cheapest way), a taxi will be twice as expensive.
