U.S. Coast Guard Day
Description:
Coast Guard Day was established in the United States by the Council of Ministers in 1790. It was on August 4 of that year that the U.S. Congress, under the leadership of Secretary General Alexander Hamilton, was authorized to begin construction of the nation's fleet. At that time it consisted of only 10 boats.
Currently, the resort town of Grand Haven, Michigan, USA is known among the population as the “city of the Marine Guard”.
As usual, this place on August 4 is a memorable and large-scale festival of the US Navy, which is still remembered for a long time.
Among those who celebrate the holiday, you can meet local residents of the city, and military reservists, retired military and many others.
