National Women of Color Day in the United States

Description:

Women of Color Day
National Women of Color Day was established by the National Institute of Colored Women in 1986. The main task of this institute is to create a community of indigenous women from Africa, India, Alaska, Asia, Spain, Latin America and the Pacific Islands, to solve their problems, to hold international conferences and develop strategies for protecting the rights of women of color, to cooperate and learn about each other's cultures.

After the institute was renamed the International Association of Colored Women, the holiday automatically acquired the status of “international”. However, outside the United States it is almost not celebrated.

On the other hand, it is the sacred duty of any women’s organization to hold an event dedicated to this holiday in the United States on March 1, especially if its members are African-American, Hispanic, Asian, representatives of numerous Indian peoples of both Americas or even more numerous nationalities of Oceania.
