China Hot Springs Hot Spring

China Hot Springs is a small town located in Fairbanks North Star, Alaska. The village is located one hundred kilometers northeast of the city of Fairbanks. In August 1905, a hot spring was found here by Robert Swan. The water in it was very close in properties to the Carlsbad spring.

The hot spring quickly gained popularity among tourists, and soon a resort was built here. The resort gave the village of China Hot Springs a new breath: annually it is visited by a huge number of tourists who want to swim in hot water.

With the help of a hot spring, many systems necessary for the life of the settlement were also established: a low-temperature geothermal power plant and heating greenhouses.
