Fog Fjords Reserve

Gravina Island Hwy, Ketchikan, AK 99901, USA

Description:

A unique attraction of Alaska is a corner of wildlife called "Fog Fjords", since 1978 is a national reserve of the United States. The park stretches for 64 kilometers along the southeastern coast of the state, its area is 9.5 thousand square kilometers.

Among the numerous mountain peaks, seething rivers intertwine with small glaciers. Impenetrable forests, sky-blue lakes and waterfalls, shrouded in light mist, make up an untouched masterpiece of Alaska’s breathtaking landscapes. Wildlife here is represented by 120 species of arctic and subarctic plants and animals, including rare and endangered.

Due to the remoteness of the area, most visitors arrive by cruise ship or tourist seaplane from the cities of Ketchikan or June. There are about 10 thousand trails and excursion routes. Visitors are offered hiking, boating, bicycles, horse riding and fishing. Fans of extreme recreation can go mountaineering and kayaking under the supervision of experienced instructors.

The reserve "Fog Fjords" will not leave anyone indifferent and is ideal for a family holiday.
