Chen River

Description:
The Chena River Recreation Zone gets its name from the name of the river flowing near the town of Fairbanks. Chena originates in the White Mountains and flows into the tributary of the Yukon - Tanana. The length of the river is 160 km. On one of the sections of the river, a dam was built, on which there is a research station for observing the population of fish. Tourists coming here can go on a short trip on a wheeled steamer.
The Chena River Recreational Zone stretches on the banks of the Chena River between picturesque hills covered with forest, and above them proudly rises rocky peaks. Through the hills laid several hiking tourist routes leading to the rocks. From here, from the very height, a magnificent panorama of the surroundings opens.
The two-day Granit-Tor route is very popular among travelers. It leads to the so-called Plain of Monuments, dotted with volcanic rocks resembling medieval towers. The forests are rich in berries and mushrooms, and there are many fish in the river, so the Chena River is perfect for amateur fishing.
