Atlanta Botanical Garden

1345 Piedmont Ave NE, Atlanta, GA

Description:

Atlanta Botanical Garden, covering an area of 12 hectares, is located near Piedmont Park in central Atlanta. Founded in 1976, this botanical garden aims to grow and maintain plant collections to the delight of numerous visitors.

Visitors can admire not only the rich flora, but also exhibitions that are periodically held in the Atlanta Botanical Garden. For example, in 2004, an exhibition of glass works was held here, which was visited by 425,000 people in eight months.

One of the distinguishing features of this botanical garden is the large collection of orchids, which, as part of the exhibition called “The Charm of Orchids”, is offered to the attention of visitors every winter. In addition, you can visit a small tropical grove inhabited by tropical birds and turtles.

In 2007, a large-scale expansion of the botanical garden began, which was completed in the spring of 2010. As a result of the work, the garden became almost twice as large: a number of new facilities were built, the most significant of which are the visitor center and an indoor walking park with a length of 180 meters.
