Farragut State Park

Athol, ID 83801, United States

Description:

Farragut State Park is located on the shore of the picturesque Lake Pend. Its territory covers about 1,600 hectares of land, including majestic mountains, dense forests, plains and lakes. During the Second World War, a US naval base was located here. The park was founded in 1964 and named after the first Admiral of the Navy, David Farragut.

Nowadays, instead of soldiers and weapons, the park is filled with the magical sounds of birds and wild animals. Here the beauty of nature and history are harmoniously intertwined, with which you can get acquainted closer in a small museum. Open to visitors, the park area provides many opportunities for recreation, including picnics, exciting boat trips, water sports and hiking. There is a beautiful golf course and a children's playground.

At the disposal of visitors are fantastic sandy beaches, cozy campsites and a large open-air stage for various cultural events. Farragut Park is an ideal place for relaxation and family holidays.
