Channel Island National Park

United States, Idaho, Channell Island

Description:

Channel Island National Park is located on the southern coast of California and includes in addition to a protected natural area several inhabited islands - Santa Barbara, Anacapa, San Miguel, Santa Cruz and Santa Rosa. It is a mountainous archipelago and each island has its own peak. Although almost half of the territory of the national park includes ocean water, the coast and only a small island part of the land.

In addition to the inhabited part, there are many very small islands of volcanic origin, on which only fur seals and sea lions live. On their territory are allowed strictly by permits that allow the tourist to be in this place. All vacationers are constantly monitored by the park’s ranger services. To camp near the coast, you need to register two weeks in advance and have the necessary amount of food and water. To some, such rules will seem unnecessarily harsh, but only in this way can the natural balance of the archipelago be maintained. Only thanks to strict prohibitions and control over visitors, guests of the national park can see huge gray whales frolic in the bays of dolphins and phlegmatically talking on the shore of sea lions from the shore.

The most common entertainment for tourists is diving. Even a simple diving and diving with a mask off the coast will open for you an unusually beautiful underwater world in its naturalness.
