Millennium Park
201 E. Randolph St., between Michigan Ave.
Description:
Millennium Park is one of the most beautiful vacation spots in Chicago. The park is located on the shores of Lake Michigan. Construction work on the site where the park is now located began in 1997, but they were completed only in 2004. More than three hundred thousand people came to open the park.
Two years later, a sculpture appeared in Plaza, which the locals nicknamed “the bean” because of its bizarre shape. The original name of the sculpture is Cloud Gate, which in English means cloud gate. This work was created by British artist and sculptor Anish Kapoor.
During its existence, the park has been awarded more than 30 honorary awards. There are numerous gardens and pavilions in the park. Here you can just relax in the fresh air, visit a performance in the theater or exhibition halls of the gallery. The entrance to the park is completely free.
