Sunset Beach
Hawaii, O. Oahu, United States of America
Description:
Sunset Beach is located on the northern coast of Oahu Island, Hawaii. It is a huge ocean beach known for its large waves that form here during the winter season. And that is why it is a favorite place for surfers from all over the world. Near the beach is the home of Duke Kahanamoku, the founder of the classic surfing competition.
Like many beaches on the north coast of Oahu, Sunset Beach is considered dangerous for inexperienced surfers, due to extensive coral formations near the surface, on which you can get very badly injured. Climatic conditions on it vary greatly depending on the season. All surfing competitions are held here in winter, as it is in December and January that the wave height reaches its maximum.
Swimming here is possible only at certain times, this is monitored by local rescuers. The beach itself is dotted with fine sand of a pleasant white color. Near it is a small park with palm trees and curly vines. If you are a fan of surfing, you should visit this place.
