Purple Pfeiffer Beach
Description:
On the coast of Big Sur in central California there is an amazing beach where nature showed creativity and painted the sand in various shades of purple. This uniqueness is due to the fact that the rocks that surround the beach are rich in one of the varieties of pomegranate - spessartin.
The purple beach of Pfeiffer Beach is amazing in that the rains and waves washing out the colored mineral, which later mixes with the sand, forms a lilac, burgundy and purple hue.
You can also see amazing sunsets here.
It is not easy to find - the beach is hidden among hills and cliffs. However, after finding it, you will be surprised at how unusual the 800-meter strip of Pfeiffer beach looks lilac color: millions of spessartin crystals play in the sun, ocean waves blur the rocks, day after day Pfeiffer beach pleases the eye with new natural drawings in the sand.
