State Park-Beach "Asilomar"
800 Asilomar Boulevard, Pacific Grove, CA
Description:
Asilomar State Park is located in California, in the city of Pacific Grove on the Monterey Peninsula. Its name translates from Spanish as “shelter by the sea”. The park is a narrow strip of sandy beach with a length of about 1.6 kilometers and a rocky bay, as well as sand dunes, through which there is a hiking trail lined with wooden boards. The park provides the possibility of movement for cyclists and people with disabilities who move in wheelchairs. There is an asphalt road for them. In the rocky bay is the state marine reserve Asilomar, which is home to a large number of diverse species of seabed inhabitants. The water in this place is cold and muddy, but this does not confuse lovers of scuba diving. This place is incredibly popular.
In the park you can stay for a night or a few days in one of the small houses. The park has everything you need for a quiet and fruitful holiday: cycling and hiking routes, volleyball court, swimming pool, beach. The park hosts important meetings dedicated to the environmental problems of the Earth. The conference center building was built in 1913 by architect Julia Morgan and is a historical monument. The same architect designed buildings in which vacationers live.
