Joshua Tree National Park

Joshua-Tree, 74485 National Park Drive, Twentynine Palms, California

Description:

About two hours from Los Angeles is located Joshua Tree National Park. The park was founded in 1936 on the initiative of local Mormons. According to them, the rare trees growing there are similar to the image of Jesus Christ raising his hands. It took another 60 years for the park to become a national park.

However, the main attraction of the park are not trees at all, but a chic desert complex with 700 species of plants, including dozens of varieties of cacti. Throughout the park are scattered picturesque boulders, to climb which every self-respecting tourist tries.

It is noteworthy that one of the albums of the famous rock band U2 is named after the park Joshua Tree.
