Los Angeles Fire Department Memorial Museum

1355 North Cahuenga Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90028, USA

About the company:

The Los Angeles Fire Department Memorial Museum is located in Old Fire Station 27. The museum houses old fire engines and equipment that were used in 1880. The museum also houses a reference library and a fire safety training center.

In 1985, the building of the fire station was entered in the State Register of Cultural and Historical Heritage. Near the museum building, a memorial plaque was built, on which the names of the dead firefighters were engraved in the performance of their official duty, as well as five life-size statues of firefighters.

1,900 square meters of the Renaissance-style building once housed the largest fire department in the region, opened in 1930.

The museum opened in 2001, immediately after the September 11 attacks in New York City. The historical department of the museum is completely filled with various photographs and installations. The museum has several rare fire engines, rare fire equipment, medals and awards of firefighters.
