Travel Town Transport Museum
5200 Zoo Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90027, USA
About the company:
On December 14, 1952, the Travel Town Transportation Museum opened in northwestern Los Angeles. It is located in Griffith Park. The museum reflects the history of rail transportation in the United States.
The collection of the museum is very extensive - you can see 43 full-scale locomotives, freight cars, galleys, passenger cars, a miniature excursion train, trolleys and much more. In the building of the museum there are several exhibition halls and a souvenir shop, where tourists have the opportunity to buy various books and toys on transport topics.
Travel Town can be seen in many films, for example, “Colombo”, “Quantum Leap”, “Speaking to Ghosts” and others. This is because the museum is close to film studios, which has prompted these companies to include the museum in scenes requiring railway equipment.
