Zion Canyon
Description:
The name Zion means “the home of the gods.” This is a place where time seems to have stopped.
The history of Zion National Park is wind, water and stone. Relatively soft and porous sandstones, resting on a very solid basis, over millions of years were cut by water and wind and turned into bizarre rocks in the form of towers, spires, arches.
Description of the tour:
Zion Canyon is long, deep, sometimes it becomes narrower and wider, and the restless Virgin River cuts through these orange-pink cliffs up to 1,000 meters high. Having made its winding way in prehistoric times, it formed a wonderful canyon in beauty, where millions of tourists now come annually to overcome the five-kilometer trail to the natural observation deck called “Angel Landing” or wander through the belt in the water among the sheer cliffs. The road is beautifully framed by rocks on all sides, often having unusual names: the Great White Throne, the Court of the Patriarchs, the Roof of the Castle, the Organ, the Landing of Angels, the Canyon Echo.
Photographers claim that Zion is the most beautiful park in Utah. But the competition is great – there are also Bryce Canyon National Park and Arches National Park. The tastes are not disputed, but the wonderful combination of coastal forests with cascades of waterfalls really leaves a lasting impression.
Price: $595 (1-3 people), $695 (4-6 people), more than 6 people.
