Pasadena or Pasadena is a California city in Los Angeles County, the main center of the San Gabriel Valley, located at the foot of the eponymous mountain near the Angeles National Forest. In the center of Pasadena there are many mansions of the early 20th century, marked by the influence of the arts and crafts movement. In Pasadena lived many patrons who considered it their duty to leave the city their collections or parks. The city also has traces of the life of Indians who once lived here, the buildings of the first Spanish settlers have been preserved: the old Spanish mill and the Franciscan mission of San Gabriel.

The parade is a festival of flowers and is attended by more than a million people. The elegant building of the center belonged to the founder of the chewing gum empire, William Wrigley.

The Ambassador Auditorium is a classical music center known as the Carnegie Hall of the West Coast of America.

The Norton Simon Museum is an art museum founded in 1969. The museum features a collection of paintings and sculptures by American industrialist and philanthropist Norton Simon. Here you can see masterpieces of European painting from the Renaissance to Impressionism. A separate floor is dedicated to Asian art. In the gardens of the museum there is a collection of sculptures of the 20th century.

California Institute of Technology (Caltech) is a private college of practical and scientific engineering. The famous school is always in the top ten of all world university rankings. More than 30 Nobel laureates have completed it. Some laboratories are sometimes opened for excursions.

The Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens is a scientific and educational center based on the villa of millionaire Henry Huntington in San Marino. In the first quarter of the 20th century, railway magnate Henry Huntington assembled the largest private collection of 18th-century British portraits. Among the masterpieces of the collection are “Blue Boy” by T. Gainsborough, “Pink Girl” by T. Lawrence, one of the Madonnas of Rogier van der Weyden. The territory of the villa with a total area of 120 acres is occupied by a botanical garden, where rare plants are planted. Some parts of the garden are decorated in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, African and other styles.

Visits to the parks (Forest Lon), the park museums (Norton and Huntington) and the university are optional, admission tickets are paid additionally on-site.
