Los Angeles

Travel along the Pacific Coast on Highway No. 1. MUST VISIT!

Description:

The First or Pacific Highway is one of the most striking sights of the West Coast of the United States. California highway, which is deservedly considered the most beautiful in the whole country, and probably on the whole continent. It will give you a lot of indelible impressions, vivid emotions and, of course, gigabytes of photos and videos. This is the place I want to go back to again and again.

Tour program: Los Angeles - Santa Barbara - Santa Inez Valley - Solvang - Cumbria - Big Sur - Monterey - Carmel - San Francisco

The two-day excursion is very busy and includes a car trip along the Pacific Ocean from Los Angeles to San Francisco with stops in the most beautiful and interesting places where you can admire the views that are simply breathtaking. Once the metropolis with bustling roads and tall houses is left somewhere behind, you will find yourself in the grip of the Pacific coast. You will find mountain serpentine and rookeries of elephant seals, steep cliffs and magnificent seascapes. In some places you will see the beauty is not at all southern, but even harsh - with shimmering desert hills and trees that grow, bowing low to the ground due to strong winds blowing from the ocean. It is here that you will once again see that California is a separate planet, where different parts have completely different climate and nature. Our path will run through the famous Bixby Bridge – one of the tallest reinforced concrete single-span bridges in the world and one of the most photographed bridges in California! Along the way we will visit very beautiful and cozy cities. Let’s start with the familiar from the same series of the city of Santa Barbara. Here you will get acquainted with the historical center of the city, stop at the building of the city court, which is the main monument to the revived Spanish colonial style. From its observation deck in front of you will open one of the best views of the city. Then you will walk along the elegant tourist street State, which rests directly on the famous pier "Sterns", built more than 130 years ago.

Then we climb the mountains and find ourselves in the valley of Santa Ynez, famous for its vineyards. There you will visit the most picturesque wineries and try real California wines.

Moving further along the number one highway, we will go a little sideways to see another "different" California - the beautiful and cozy town of Solvang. This is a real part of Denmark, located right in the middle of the California hills. Solvang was founded in 1911 by a group of Danes who immigrated to California and established a colony there. The whole city looks a little toy, so very neat and cozy. For the night you will arrive in the coastal town of Cumbria.

Our trip will continue with a visit to the former capital of California, Monterey. Stroll along its famous Canned Row and promenade along Ocean View Boulevard, enjoying snow-white beaches and turquoise water. At the Coast Guard Pier, you can watch sea lions set up their rookeries on coastal cliffs. Then we will go to the no less colorful town of Carmel, also located on the ocean. Here literally blows with creativity, art and creation. No wonder. Half of the inhabitants are poets and artists. Almost at every step there are art galleries, antique shops, music salons. In the evening you will arrive in San Francisco.

Note: Optionally and for an additional fee the next day, you can tour San Francisco and transfer back to Los Angeles.
