Tour program: Santa Barbara - Solvang - Santa Ines
We all know Santa Barbara from the series of the same name. Due to its great popularity, we are familiar with the famous snow-white arches – the hallmark of the California Riviera. Walking along the quiet, cozy streets, you will see for yourself that they are found literally at every step - almost all entrances, galleries or windows are decorated in the form of arches. Santa Barbara is famous for the colonial Spanish architecture of the XVIII century. We will visit the main attraction - the Church of the Spanish Mission, within the walls of which there is now a small museum and a picturesque garden. Due to its impressive size, location and architecture, it is known as the Queen of Missions. An equally impressive Santa Barbara building is the County Courthouse. Made in Moorish style, the building occupies an area of a whole block. We will climb the observation deck of his chapel and admire the terracotta roofs of houses and the delightful scenery of the city. Then we will walk along the pier Stearns Wharf and watch the pelicans.
Our next stop is the Danish village of Solvang, which means “sun field”, or the so-called Little Denmark. The inhabitants of this town are descendants of those immigrants from Denmark who moved to warm California from the cold latitudes of the American Midwest, so everything in it - from a small shop with Danish pastries to houses - is aged in the traditional style. Just a two-hour drive from Los Angeles, you find yourself in a completely different country. People here speak English, but the rest of the town seems to have descended from the pages of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tales.
The Santa Ines Valley is famous for its vineyards. This is a very popular tourist area, where it is customary to visit various private wineries and taste local wines, fruits and vegetables. We will visit the best of them. You will have the opportunity to taste several varieties of real California wines.
