Hearst Castle. Santa Barbara. Solvang
Description:
Day 1.
9:00am – We leave Los Angeles for a tour of Santa Barbara. First stop at the oldest pier in California. Sometimes, walking along it you can observe flocks of dolphins, which according to ancient legend are a symbol of Santa Barbara.
Next, tourists will take a photo under the largest tree in the city. They say that under it can gather together about a thousand people. You can even play hide-and-seek in its roots. Downtown will be surprised by the lack of tall houses, as the style of Santa Barbara is low beige 2 or 3-storey houses with bright light-colored tiles.
Here, tourists will visit one of the most beautiful buildings in the city, this is the courthouse, built instead of the burned old building in 1929. From here, climbing on one of the towers, you can from a bird's eye view, admire the panorama of the whole city.
Here is the famous store of rented old things. If desired, tourists will be able to walk around it and perhaps buy something for themselves.
This city has one of the most beautiful California missions. Near it you can get acquainted with the way of life of monks of that time, stroll through the Rose Park and take beautiful photos. Then you will find another, higher observation deck, located on one of the green hills of Santa Barbara. And on the way there and back, you can get acquainted with the modern way of life of the “not the poorest” people of this town. Later, tourists are waiting to move along a beautiful road through the reserve and the Chumash Indian reservation.
In the valley where this tribe once lived, now there is an artificially created Lake Kachuma. We can stop here at the observation deck for a photo. Our tour will end in a beautiful place, in the village that the Danes built back in 1911 and called Solvang.
Translated as Sun Valley. The Danish way of life is here. The same wooden houses, storks on roofs and mills. Tourists can try local, Danish sausages with beer, wine, chocolate and of course Danish pastries. On the streets, there is also a huge selection of souvenirs for every taste. After a walk in Solvang, we take a beautiful road that runs along the ocean (1 Highway), to Hearst Castle. And right on the shore, we stay for a holiday at the hotel.
Day 2.
9:00 AM – We are heading to Hearst Castle. For our tourists, we usually book tickets for Tour #1. It is this tour that gives a more complete view of this unusual castle of the famous newspaper magnate, William Rundoluf Hearst.
(Tickets are not included in the cost of the trip and are paid additionally, $35 per 1 person.) Tickets are paid by tourists along with the tour payment.
After Hearst Castle we go to the huge rookery of seals, sea lions and elephant seals, where you can watch their leisurely life. Next, our way lies in the winery of the town of Paso Robles. We will be able to visit one of them, in which anyone can test with a dozen good wines.
(Testing cost per 1 person from $5.00.) And when buying wine at the winery, testing is free.
The wineries in these places are like castles. So you will have something to take pictures on the road and wonder about.
On the way back, we will visit the Madonna Hotel, one of the five most romantic hotels in America. We'll be back in Los Angeles tonight.
