Description:

On Santa Monica Boulevard is the California Temple of Los Angeles. It is the second largest temple in the city and is run by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. At the time of its foundation in 1956, it was the largest church.

The Los Angeles California Temple is the first temple to have a statue of the Moroni Angel. The area of the building occupies 17,709 square meters. As a result of the reconstruction, which began in 2005, the already magnificent building has become even more beautiful. Seismic overhauls were carried out, complete reconstruction and modernization of the baptisteries, where initially there was poor ventilation.

In front of the temple there are well-groomed green areas filled with various vegetation. There are several varieties of palm trees, olive trees, rare Chinese Ginkgo trees and pine trees of the Canary Islands. On the territory there are various church facilities, including a prayer book, the headquarters of the church mission, missionary apartments, a temple of patrons and even baseball fields.

High light brown building of unusual shape pleases the eye. The architecture of the temple is made in the Art Nouveau style, the exterior cladding consists of a mixture of crushed quartz and white Portland cement, which is mined in Utah and Nevada. The structure reaches 112 meters in length and 82 meters in width, and at the very top of the temple stands the statue of the angel Moroni.
