McCarthy Memorial Christian Church

4101 West Adams Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90018

Description:

In 1932, a snow-white structure appeared on 4101 West Adams Boulevard in Los Angeles, California. This is how the McCarthy Memorial Christian Church was created in the English neo-Gothic style.

The architecture of the building attracts with its stained glass windows with an intricate pattern, a high bell tower with sharp spires and a triangular roof with a Christian cross at the top.

The first pastor of the temple was Dr. Bruce Brown. He served the parishioners until 1942. James O. Sauvel was replaced by James Clark Brown. In 1954, Allen became the Reverend at McCarthy. He made radical changes to the way of life of the temple by uniting white Americans and blacks under one roof.

Now the temple is one of the main attractions of the city, built in the Gothic style.
