Museum of Folk Art and Crafts
5814 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90036, USA
About the company:
The Museum of Folk Arts and Crafts was opened in 1973.
The museum building was built in 1930 as a shopping area. It is a brick two-storey house, made in red and white colors. It has a dark roof in the shape of a trapezoid. It was designed by architect Gilbert Stanley Underwood. In 1995, the building was restored, but the original facade remained virtually intact.
The exposition of the Museum of Folk Arts and Crafts has about 3,000 artifacts collected from around the world. This includes toys, glass, textiles, a collection of Mexican products and Indian masks and much more. Sometimes there are cultural seminars and educational programs.
Also in the museum building there is an art and crafts store, where goods reflecting the cultural diversity of the world are put up for sale.
