Los Angeles

Los Angeles is a city of contrasts!

Description:

This city from the first seconds of arrival conquers with its amazing, unique atmosphere, it is no coincidence that it is one of the favorite places for tourists in the United States! Here they get stuck in traffic not because of the influx of traffic, but because of the fact that a movie is shot at the intersection. Here for ten dollars you can buy an Oscar statuette, and in the store you can see someone from Hollywood stars. It seems that in this city there are no waiters, gardeners, drivers – here everyone is also an actor, director, screenwriter. It is a city of hope, a city of fulfilled and unfulfilled desires. Like any city in the United States, Los Angeles is imbued with the American way of life, its strength, energy and rhythm. The city is ready to give a break from the daily routine to everyone who came here!

Los Angeles is a global city. The strongest economy is based on international trade, entertainment, manufacturing and tourism. In addition, an important role belongs to the financial and telecommunications sector of the economy, medicine, transport and law. The port of Los Angeles is the fifth busiest in the world, and the economy is the third in the United States (after New York and Chicago) and the eighth in the world.

However, it is obvious that Hollywood and the entertainment industry brought worldwide fame to the city. Formally, India’s Bollywood in Mumbai (formerly Bombay) produces more films than Hollywood, however, the scale of box office receipts is incomparable. In addition to Hollywood, the world center for filmmaking, other types of media business are concentrated in Los Angeles, the most important of which are the production of television products, computer games, and sound recording. This makes Los Angeles the entertainment capital of the world.

Most of the film studios today are located in the vicinity of Los Angeles (for example, on the Westside), but a significant part of the support industry with specialists in editing, props and lighting remained in Hollywood. Here is the oldest American film studio Paramount Pictures.

On the streets of Los Angeles, films and soap series are regularly filmed (for example, "House Doctor" and "C.S.I.: Crime Scene"). Getting into the extras is quite easy: you just need to follow the schedule of shooting on the site.

Modern Los Angeles is a rapidly developing metropolis, where the headquarters of the world's leading companies are located: City National Bank, CBRE Group, The Walt Disney Company, Hilton Hotels, Herbalife, and many others. Also, major international exhibitions, awards ceremonies and various festivals are held here annually. The 1932 and 1984 Summer Olympics were held in Los Angeles.

A special flavor of Los Angeles gives the multinationality of its population. No other city has as many immigrants as Los Angeles. It is home to more than 140 countries speaking 224 different languages. The largest are the Latin American and Asian diasporas. Also in the city there are many residents of German, Italian, Russian, Armenian, British and Irish origin. An important part of Los Angeles’ culture is its ethnic division. Los Angeles is a truly amazing city of contrasts. The Thai quarter here intersects with the Armenian, the Chinese neighbor with the Japanese, the Italian with the Ukrainian, the Korean with Hollywood. And the artists’ lofts in Downtown coexist peacefully with the offices and fitness clubs of successful businessmen.

Beverly Hills is probably the most popular area in the world. What is the acclaimed youth series of the 90s Beverly Hills 90210? However, since then, little has changed here: the same courtyards with fountains, palm alleys, clean sidewalks, a lot of stylish youth on fashionable cars. It is hard to imagine that there was nothing here. That is, there were swamps along the edges of which stunted shrubs grew. An expedition led by Gaspar de Portola in 1769 described those topis as rugged. But the territory gradually transformed and became a tasty piece. The land was being bought up. They tried to extract oil, breed sheep and bees, grow vegetables. In 1906, the owner of a company selling land on the east coast came here. Without thinking twice, he bought up some of the land and called it his favorite female name, Beverly. One of the most popular excursions among tourists is a sightseeing tour, within which you can look at the houses of celebrities. Many people know that the best shopping is in Milan, but Rodeo Drive sounds like a code word leading to the most expensive boutiques. And here buyers will not be afraid of prices and brands will not surprise. On the windows of many stores hangs a sign "Appointment only" (only by appointment).
