Manitulin Island

The largest island in fresh water is located in the Michigan Lake Huron. The island of Manitulin is comparable in size to the Duchy of Luxembourg and even exceeds it. But it is not surprising for its size. Manitulin Island is a visual example of a nesting doll: being an island in a lake, it itself has lakes, on which in turn there are islands with lakes. And so on almost indefinitely!
Due to its unusual terrain, the island is a favorite place for family holidays. Picturesque landscapes can be picked up for every taste, and magnificent beaches will not leave anyone indifferent. There are many tourist routes on the island with convenient campsites. On the numerous shores of the inner and outer lakes there are yacht clubs where you can rent a vessel.
Manitulin Island is quite respectable age - it is several million years old. Archaeological excavations have discovered settlements of ancient Indian civilization. One of the first colonial settlements was founded here, which preserved traces of the first European colonists from the old world. The museums of the island are very diverse. It will not be boring for lovers of history and archaeology, geography and biology, and everyone without exception will not refuse to visit the museum of retro cars.
