Mesa Verde Reserve

Unnamed Rd, Mesa Verde National Park, CO 81330 11ft

Description:

One of the most important tourist centers of Colorado is the Mesa Verde National Park. The amazing natural complex is visited annually by up to 700 thousand tourists from all over the world. The main reason for such a great popularity of the park is the miraculously preserved ruins of settlements of the Anasazi Indians.

The Anasazi tribe began building their city in the sixth century AD. During the construction, enormous efforts were spent: after all, the city was built directly on the wall of the gorge. The main building material was yellow sandstone, which was fastened to each other with clay soaked in water. Thus, 200 rooms and storerooms were built, as well as dozens of courtyards and terraces. The only way to get into the city was a hole in the ceiling and a rope ladder.
