New York City

New York is New Amsterdam

Description:

New York is New Amsterdam.

You need to start exploring New York from the places where New Amsterdam was born. You will look behind the scenes of American history, world financial life and political relations between the United States and Europe, visit the old fort and see the Statue of Liberty as it was seen by European immigrants of the XIX century. I will be happy to show this amazing city as it is - with its atmosphere and architecture, and help to discover your New York.

Until 1664, New York, founded by the Dutch, was called "New Amsterdam". You will walk through the most important places for this period of urban history and try on the role of an immigrant from Europe who opened new horizons. You will see not only the perspective of the financial center of Manhattan, the famous Wall Street and New York Avenues, but also a retrospective of the events that created the fate of all America. I'll take you to Washington headquarters and tell you how the CIA came into America before the regular army. In the Church of the Trinity, you will learn who Hamilton was for the country, and in one historical tavern - move back 260 years.

Many people are familiar with Venice. It turns out New York is even more watery. We are on two islands, several peninsulas, there are many rivers, lakes and the Atlantic Ocean. And the ocean breathes, i.e. rises and falls 4 times a day, and it affects the rivers! The local Lepanto Indians say of the Hudson: "The river moves in both directions!"

After walking through the oldest part of the city, you will go to the pier, from where a huge ferry with two noses departs. And along a wide arc, ride towards the main visiting card of the United States - the Statue of Liberty. We will sail past an island that remembers the confrontation between Gorbachev and Reagan with the participation of several translators and 12 bottles of Capital, approach the legendary monument, and you will look at it through the eyes of thousands of Europeans of another era. And then visit Fort Clinton - this is one of the 6 "guardians" of New York, where once there was a bloodless transfer of power in the city, which was not prevented by bronze guns.

In the summer, I propose an alternative ship: a fast catamaran with a powerful engine.
