About the company:

The Cooper Hewitt Design Museum is located on one of New York’s Fifth Avenue neighborhoods, the Museum Mile. The museum was founded in 1897 by the granddaughters of philanthropist Cooper. The museum is a kind of continuation of the Cooper Foundation, which was engaged in the development of science and art.

The building of the museum, an ancient three-storey Carnegie mansion, in itself is of historical value and is an architectural monument.

The museum contains documents reflecting the history of the formation of design brands, as well as highlighting the activities of many designers.

The museum archive contains more than 250 thousand exhibits, ranging from medieval objects to modern creative furniture. Only a small part of the exhibits are on display, some collections can be seen only by appointment.

There is also a rich library, numbering several thousand books, among them about five thousand ancient, of historical and cultural value.
