Brighton Beach Metro Station of the New York Metro
Description:
Brighton Beach is a New York Metro station located on the BMT Brighton Line. The station is located in Brooklyn, in Brighton Beach County, at the intersection of Brighton Beach Avenue and Brighton 6th Street. The station is served by two subway routes - B and Q. Only Q works around the clock, route B only works on weekdays (except late at night). For route B, the station is the final station.
The station is a flyover, located on a four-track section of the line and represented by two island platforms. There are canopies that are located almost along the entire length of the platforms (except for the ends). The columns also have signs with the name of the station. Local (external) tracks use Q trains, while B express trains arrive on central tracks. In the central part of the station above the express tracks is located control station. The station was reconstructed in the 1990s.
The station has two exits. Both are represented by overpass mezzanines located under the platforms. The main exit is located in the northern part of the platforms. In the mezzanine from the platforms leads on one ladder. The turnstile pavilion is represented by both full-growth turnstiles and ordinary ones. Three stairs lead from the mezzanine to the city: to all corners (except the northwest) of Brighton Beach Avenue and Brighton 6th Street. From the north-western corner of this intersection, an escalator leads to the mezzanine, which constantly works only for lifting and, therefore, is used only to enter the station.
