In 1963, a huge Japanese garden was built in Portland. It is recognized as the best traditional garden not created in Japan. Professor Takuma Tono designed the basic concept of the park and over the years, with his own funds and voluntary donations, brought new elements to it. On 2.5 hectares there are five different style zones, each of which differs not only in architectural elements, but also in plants.
