Lake Mazama volcano

USA, Oregon, Klamath

Description:

In the Crater Lake National Park of Oregon is one of the highest volcano mountains of Mazama. This place is famous for its crater lake with the purest and clear blue water.

Several thousand years ago, after a strong eruption, Mazama was partially destroyed, and a caldera (trench) was formed on the site of the crater. Over time, the depression filled with water, and formed a beautiful lake Crater. The approximate dimensions of the crater reservoir are 10 km in length and 8 in width.

Crater is the deepest volcanic lake in the United States, its depth is on average 350 meters, with the deepest point being at a distance of almost 600 meters from the surface of the water. The lake is fed only by precipitation.

Attracts tourists to the beautiful lake not only the amazing poisonous blue color of the water with beautiful views of the surroundings, but also the old legend of the “lake old man”, bringing happiness to everyone who saw it. As a result, the “old man” turned out to be an ordinary log, which swims in a very unusual way – vertically.
