San Diego - full tour
Description:
San Diego is a coastal mountains and fields, drowning in greenery and flowers of the most incredible colors; it is an ocean, surprisingly not quiet in its power and at the same time soothing, creating an atmosphere of harmony and instilling peace, here and then you can see dolphins, flocking out of the water, then a whale, carelessly throwing fountains up, then surfers; these are fashionable restaurants and cozy family cafes with exotic cuisine, these are wonderful parks and kilometers of sandy beaches, this is the same place from which you never want to leave. You can talk about San Diego endlessly... but still better to see once!
The tour will begin with a visit to downtown: the promenade, the ship-museum “Star of India”, the aircraft carrier USS Midway, built during the Second World War, the gas lantern quarter – a place of active nightlife, where the best restaurants, shops, clubs and galleries of San Diego are concentrated – all this will appear before you during its inspection.
Then you will head to the Coronado Peninsula, where you will visit the famous Hotel Del Coronado. It was here that everyone filmed their favorite film “Only Girls In Jazz”, and the elite hotel by the ocean, built in 1888, still attracts thousands of tourists.
Then we will move to Balboa Park, which is a copy of the old-world Spanish city. This amazing exhibition center was built in 1915 for the opening of the Panama Canal. There are 18 museums, several theaters, one of which is a copy of the famous Shakespearean theater “Old Globe”, an outdoor organ, a Japanese garden, orchid garden, rose garden, palm canyon and, of course, a cactus garden.
A visit to the Old Town area will impress you. This is the real historical heart of the city, where the atmosphere of the first settlements of the Spaniards and Mexicans is recreated. In 1850, the population of San Diego was 650. This was the Wild West we all saw in Westerns. This place is similar to the scenery for movies, with the only difference that everything you see is absolutely real: Mexican mansions, and the old prison, and the first school, and shops that sell various interesting and unusual souvenirs.
At the end of the tour, you will find the amazing La Hoya, which means “Pearl” in Indian. This European resort is known for its stunning coastline with water-cut cliffs and caves, seals that are happy to bask in the sand and a wonderful walking street with restaurants, boutiques, antique shops and art galleries.
