San Francisco

Museum of Modern Jewish Art

736 Mission St, San Francisco, CA 94103, United States

About the company:

Since its inception, San Francisco has become a New Jerusalem for the Jewish diaspora, and its contribution to the development of the city can hardly be underestimated. The museum is something special, it is like a vector directed towards a bright future, which is reflected in its unofficial name - "Museum of Life".

The museum is located in the building of the power plant, built in the early XX century, but a thorough reconstruction completely transformed it: crystalline volumes of blue steel, angular shapes that form the letters of the Hebrew alphabet, forming in combination the motto “To life”.

In the reliefs of the lobby, you can unravel the word “pardes”, which means “paradise garden”. The hall of the first tier is decorated with a ceiling painting, in the contours of which it is easy to guess the map of Israel. If you are lucky, you can get to a performance, for example, a ballet production, and enjoy magnificent samples of stage art. The museum collected all the best and brightest that was created by the brilliant representatives of the Jewish people.
