Houston Museum of Modern Art
5216 Montrose Boulevard, Houston, Texas 77006, United States
About the company:
One of Houston’s many attractions is the Houston Museum of Modern Art, which opened in 1970. It has undergone two major overhauls, the last of which was completed in 1997. A feature of the Houston Museum of Modern Art is that it does not have a permanent exhibition.
Its activities are aimed at presenting the best works of national, international and regional contemporary art to the public. Special attention deserves the building of the museum, completely made of stainless steel. It was designed by world-renowned architect Gunnars Birkerts. In the early 1980s, under the leadership of the Houston Museum of Modern Art, FotoFest was opened, which gained tremendous popularity far beyond Houston.
At the entrance to the Houston Museum of Modern Art there is a souvenir shop, which presents a wide range of gifts and souvenirs. Among them you can find magazines, periodic books, designer jewelry, as well as various educational toys for children.
