Mount Rainier
Mount Rainier, Ashford, WA 98304
Description:
Mount Rainier is a dormant volcano. At its top it seems flat, but in fact it is just so huge that it consists of three separate peaks - the Dome of Liberty, the Crest of Columbia and the Peak of Success. At its top are three craters, indicating the past activity of the volcano. Before their eruption in 1820-1854, Mount Rainier was much higher. Despite the dangerous neighbor, residents of Washington not only relax in these parts, but also acquire permanent housing.
At the foot of the volcano, Mount Rainier National Park is organized, which includes the volcano itself and picturesque berry meadows at its foot. On its slopes and glaciers originate the Puyalloupe, White River and Columbia rivers. Mount Rainier in some books is called Tahoma, which in ancient Indian means "Mother of rivers". Up to an altitude of 2500 meters, the volcano is densely overgrown with coniferous forest, and above are alpine meadows, One of these caves is through and through it you can go to a hidden mountain lake, the highest in North America.
