Tiger Beam Reserve

Tajikistan, Dushanbe

Description:

Reserve Tiger Balka is one of the largest reserves located on the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan. Its territory extends from the Panj River and the Kashka Kum Desert in the south to the mountain range of Khoja-Koziye. It has a fairly large complex of Tugai ecosystems, rare and especially valuable species of flora and fauna. This is what makes it unique in its kind, as the Tiger beam is the last on the planet reserve, preserving the natural communities of tugay fauna and flora.

The reserve Tiger beam is famous for the fact that the last meeting with the Tugai tiger took place on its territory. This significant event was in 1958. Throughout Tajikistan, tugai are narrow stripes or small patches of forest thickets along the banks of rivers. In turn, the reserve is characterized by real massifs of the Tugai jungle, which have practically not been subjected to anthropogenic influences and have significant dimensions. Their safety is due to the favorable location of the reserve.

Bukhara deer lives on the territory of the reserve. This species is considered endangered, so the state tries to ensure its safety by all means. As part of one of the projects, technical assistance was provided, propaganda activities were carried out, children's environmental camps were organized for residents of the surrounding territories. In 2004, saxaul forests were planted on the territory surrounding the main massif of tugays. They grew up there before, but were destroyed by man.
