Tamberma Valley

Kande, Keran, Togo

Description:

The most picturesque place in the village of Kande, located in Togo, is the beautiful valley of the Tamberma tribe, lying 30 kilometers east of the city of Keran. It is a settlement with a number of amazing towers, each of which has an original bizarre shape.

In the past, these structures, similar to medieval castles, very often helped local residents to repel the raids of neighboring tribes. Inside the buildings are log furniture covered with clay, and next to them are small areas where residents spent their leisure time and stored grain. The cone-shaped towers were used as kitchens and baths.

The Tamberma Valley is surrounded by wonderful vegetation. Arriving here, you can learn the history of the past, see how people lived in those days, as well as plunge into the local culture.
