Bradobray Mosque

In the old town of Kairouana is the Bradobray Mosque. Abu Jama el-Balawi (Sidi Zahib), the personal hairdresser of the Prophet Muhammad, is buried here. It is believed that the tomb contains the greatest relic – three hairs from the beard of the Prophet. The interior rooms, lobby, courtyards and passages of the tomb are lined with colored ceramic tiles. Near the Zawia there was a center of religious brotherhood here there are residential premises where pilgrims can stay, as well as madrasahs for religious training.
