Jebel Boo Hedma National Park

Bou-Hedma National Park, Tunisia 1.2 km

Description:

Djebel Bou-Hedma, or Buhedma, is a reserve and national park in Tunisia. This national park is located east of Gafsa, 100 kilometers from McNassie. Since 2001, part of the square is in the list of the most important places of the international organization for the protection of birds. The entire territory of the park is 169.88 square kilometers.

Although the vegetation here, in general, is typical of Tunisia and is an area with arid forests and steppes, it is famous for its relic savannah, which is no longer left in Tunisia. There are about 485 species of plants.

On the territory of the reserve there are traces of prehistoric people, including the Neolithic period.

In the buildings, erected at the end of the XIX century and was a refuge for caravans, is the administration of the national park. An ecological museum was established on the territory of the reserve.
